Because this house and acreage was recently subdivided from a larger tract, the tax office will not have a tax value or tax amount until 2026. This one and a half acre lot was at one time part of a larger tract which included the property where the Hope Crossing Animal Hospital is currently located. Before the animal hospital, the building housed a rest home facility requiring a very large septic capability. The property was subdivided and the building sold, including one half of the septic capability. The other half of the septic was reserved by Hubbard Properties Inc. and used to develop the remaining acreage as a rental property consisting of three single wide manufactured homes on Lonesome Dove Lane and the modular unit on Whisper Lane. This was intended as a long-term investment, in that the intersection of Hamlet Chapel Rd, Hwy 15 / 501, and East Cotton Rd. is likely to be a major intersection within the inevitable future development along the Hwy 15 /501 corridor. It is now the intent of Hubbard Properties to sell 82 Whisper Lane and the manufactured homes as two separate properties. The new owners may, at some point in the future, as property values accelerate and opportunities arise, may elect to sell. To enable and to facilitate this possibility, provisions in the Septic and Water Multi- Party Agreements allow either owner to remove 82 Whisper Lane from the agreements.
